To all that answered my question about breeding?

Ok so I liked everybodies point. I am gonna breed and theres nothing you can do about it. But I did decided I am adopting a male from this shelter. I still have to get someone to drive me there but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get one of these guys. Tell me what you think. Also does anybody know how much they cost? Because I dont have a job(i'm 15) so I have to babysitt for a living. And I'm saving most of my money to put aside just incase something goes wrong during the pregnancy and birthing. But anyways I just wanted to say thanks for putting the idea in my head to adopt a little guy! Look at the links below. I'm deciding between these little guys.

Good! Then why didn't you take some advice?

Oh, thats very responsible %26 mature. You sound like my 5 year old talking to her eight year old brother.

Good, but did you know that any responsible shelter or rescue will make you sign an agreement that states you WILL NOT BREED? Or do you have so little moral character that you plan to sign it %26 ignore it to further your own selfish interests? Do you think if you contacted Any Rat Rescue %26 told them your plans, they would consent to adopting to you? I think not.

Wow, what if the complications cost more than what you've saved from babysitting? What if your "ride" doesn't have time to take you to the vet? Why would you PURPOSELY add to the pet overpopulation?

*sigh*
Hehe. I'm going to breed rats too, and everyone tried to convince me I was evil doing so. Sadly, rats are the most..."regular" pet. The vet/shelters are all over an hour away, and with gas its too expensive. SOOOO, I'm going to petsmart. Yipee, yah, yee. Sugar (my current rat of 4 years old) just sleeps, and I need a few "perks" in my life.
Perks=Baby ratties!
Go with Chester. Hes awesome.
that is cool you should get a young and medium sized rat. but which one you pick don't matter. i think you should put female rats up too. chester is white so he goes with any color fur. young boy should be bred with a brown or beige colored female. go to these site about breeding rats.

good luck!!
I like Chester!! Of course, I am more partial to white rats than any other, just my taste.
I hope that you have lots of fun breeding rats, just be sure not to breed a female more than 8 months old, she could die during birth because her hips would have fused together at that point.
loni b.
Hey, Katzbark, she is planning to keep them and raise them for her on love, and if someone wants one, she will give them to her.
have some common curtesy!
When trying to place your kids, most people like the 2 color, hooded rats. And, their babies are different markings, gives you more variety. By the way, some schools will be looking for a baby for a class project,...maybe that will help you place them.
