They say we are never more than 50 feet from a rat. Why then didn't we see loadsa rats swimming in the floods?

Answers:
They probably sensed that the waters were coming and were well out of the area by the time the actual floods came ??.

Where the hell do you live? India? You are seldom that close to rats in most places. Rats are not that common in a clean and sparse environment. And you wont see them in a flood because they are seldonm in such a situation. They know when such thing will occur and clear out before hand.

Why don't you see loads of rats normally? They are shy, sneaky, fast moving animals. They probably swam out ASAP and got to higher ground in the cover of darkness.

its just like saying why didnt we go swimming in the floods? well we would have gone somewhere safer or would have tried to. its not like rats are THAT stupid they can swim but thats not where they live and they would have probably tried to avoid it as best as they could for instance by going under ground..

Let me tell you something about rats. They have evolved for survivability. They can go longer than a camel without water and can hold their breath for like 3 minuets. They can tred water for three days straight. That's why you didn't. They map out escape routes in places. They can jump like 3 feet. They just survived, that's all.

Its possible...but Rats would have sensed the flood and would have hid, or run away.

they sense anything to do with weather just like all animals do.. if a flood is coming they will make sure they are not in the way of it.
