They say hamsters are nocturnal animals, could i train my hamster to be a morning pet?

( i know its a bit of a dumb question to ask, but hey! ) =) cheers!

You can't really "train" your hamster to be a morning pet. Create a schedule of when you feed and play with your pet. Let's say you fill up his water bottle at 9am, then at 10 you fill up his food dish. At 11-12, you get him out to play. He'll be grumpy for a while because he's not used to being up at that hour, but he will eventually look forward to these hours and wait for you. It's not guarenteed to work, as all hamsters are different, but you might just get lucky.

Not really. Thousands and thousands of hamster generations have learned its safer in the night time to forage for food. You're not going to change that in a few weeks. You'll only end up with a grouchy hamster.

Yes you can but your hamster won't live as long as it should if u do that i would just let your hamster be my hamster wakes up at 5pm everyday because i have the room filled with light then i make the room dark at 5pm and thats when he wakes up and he stays up for a while!!!1

you dont really train them to come out. its natural for them to come out at night because they think its safer. some hamsters come out naturaly on a morning like mine allthough he comes out at night too

maybe play with it in the morning feed it and put water in it cage you know everythang in the morning I have had gerbails and have tring to train them to be awake in the day they were nice and they never fell asleep at least it seemed my guinea pig never falls asleep it seems i will look around the internet right now could not find anythang be try what i told you

I have two hamsters (I breed them), the boy sleeps during the day and races around the cage at night.
The girl, has pups (baby hamsters) with her, so she wanders around during the day and sleeps at night. When the pups are gone, she'll go back to doing the same as the boy until I breed her again.
You can't really train a hamster to come out of being nocturnal, and don't say it's a stupid question, we all think of silly things we want answered! Like the monkeys want to know why we copied them!
