I have a panda bear hamster I heard they live for 3 years I paid 拢5.50
I give him harry hamster food that cost around 拢1.00
He eats chicken, beef, pork, lamb, rice, bread, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, biscuits, pasta, cress, mushrooms, cake (NOT chocolate bad for all animals) yougurts, ice cream, crisps.tomatoes, chips and cheese nuts and fruit
A medium cage will probably cost 拢30
I use magazine for the bottom of my cage change every other day but you can use sawdust if you wanted poss change once a week. Sawdust itches me.
I also use shredded paper for his bed cage everyday but again you can use tissue paper. I put a toilet in one corner with wood pine cat litter in it
Just put him in and make sure he goes weee Mine goes weee every hour now because hes old.
Give him a wheel and a chew toy for his teeth and cardboard toilet tubes and a crittertrail puzzle and tubes to play in at night so he wont get fed up
I also have a cuddle twice a day he sleeps on my chest or in my hand
He also goes round in a ball around 9pm ish before I go bed round 10pm

Hope this helps
they are very easy to care for i had three throughtout my life. look online or ask the pet store where you are buying the little critter from.
GOOD LUCK.
never Had one. but sound like fun. not boring
Hamsters are pretty easy pets to care for. My advice is to make sure you go to a pet store where the people definitely know what they're talking about. I got what I thought was two female hamsters - then they started having sex (ALL THE TIME!) - then she had babies - then he ate them.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is: If for some reason you end up w/hamster babies make sure to seperate the male. Wish somebody would've told me that.
I cleaned the cage about once a week. My cats had fun chasing them around in the little hamster ball thing. Good luck!
I payed 10 daollars fo the hamster i feed my hamster vita vittles. NEVER USE CEDAR OR PINE SHAVING. my friends hamster dies useing it. I USE CAREFRESH it is the best you can get i mix the colors of carefresh. you will see what i mean if you go to Petco or Petsmart. the cage cost 31 dollars. you should clean the cage about 1 a week. i clean the poop every day ( i have a potty litter) I would research hamsters. they are fun cute little things. My hamster with everything i bought for it put together was a little under 100 dollars. If you have any questions please email me!!!!!! You should get a Syrian hamster they are easiest to handle for first time hamster owner!!
OK i hamster is a good pet that is pretty low on the cost lvl. a hamster it self usually cost some where from 10 to 20 dollars.
a cage is some thing to think about we got ours a wire cage and they like it and it costs about 20 dollars.
bedding which is the stuff in the cage is usually pretty cheap. around 5 to 10 dollars a bag. we use carefresh at our house which is what most stores use to.
for food your hamster will probably do best on a seed mix with other stuff in it and for how much i go by one hand full ever 2 days.
you should clean the cage at least ever week.
here is a list of things you need:
water bottle in cage
food dish in cage
hamster ball
food
exercise wheel in cage
TIPS:
get a starter hamster kit they include a lot of the things you need already.
let your hamster in there ball so they can run.
if you don't know something or want help choosing ask the clerk they can help find the things you need.
go to petsmart, they have all you need, cages, 30-40 pet 10-20, food 5 for a big bag, bedding use only super shavin's for the bedding its low on oils and stuff that will hurt them, and get an exercise ball for $5 at petsmart for out of the cage exercise
