You may comment. I was laying down doing some school work next to my rat in her cage. I had my pencil in my hand and my ruler was laying next to me. I don't know how it happened, but Mortisha, my rat, had reached out of her cage and was pulling my ruler in. Before I had time to re-act she had pulled it inside. I sat and watched for a second because I wanted to see how she would get it in her house. To my horror she managed to gnaw it in half and took the two peices in her house.

It sounds like your rat has a sense of humor, possibly trying to get your attention, which she did. My rat, Bob, used to walk on the edge of our couch and then jump into his blanket
bunched up on the seat of the couch. He would bury himself in it for hours. He ate through part of that blanket, but it was his, so he was forgiven.
LOL!
Good story... my daughter once had to turn in a library book to her school which had the entire spine/binding chewed up by our chinchilla!
She is probably making a little nest for herself. Very smart rat she is.
what a smart little rodent. next time buy a rubber ruler. u never know ho sneaky they can be.
Give her some wooden building blocks to chew on. She needs to chew to keep her teeth trim.
Wow! Awsome!
HAHAHA! That's great! What a cutie pie!
arent rats just adorable?we used to have a rat that would run laps in the cage til someone let her out :)
LoL
That is so cute. What a sneaky little devil. She was probably just looking for something to add to her home and the ruler presented a great opportunity.
Rodents are clever. Where theres a will theres a way!!
My hamster has a three storey cage with plastic tubes leading to each level. Each week I give him a dog biscuit (sounds strange to you, but to us hamster owners its normal I promise!!) any way, he insists that wherever he goes, the biscuite will go with him. You see him struggling to get this massive biscuit up and down the tubes any which way he can, but he does it, and I have NO IDEA how!!
Just be careful not to let her chew on anything plastic next time, you dont want her hurting herself or making herself sick x
Was the rular the kind of rulars that have metal on them? Or rubber? Or, plastic? Or, was it just a wooden one? Still, the wooden ones tend to have a line metal on them at the top. Did your rat get to that part? If so, keep an eye on your rat. This might make her sick, so, like I said, watch out! That is really the best thing that you can do for her right now. Thanks, and good luck,

very nice of u Cody to share your story with us. after reading it, i had a good feeling; kind of feeling u always have when watching a baby or a pet busy doing something: maybe we cannot make head or tail out of it but their earnest attitude amazes us.
