Please, please call your vet right away!
Call your vetenarian to know wath you can do. If he or she tell's you to bring your gerbil for a check up i would go.
do they have access to sharp sticks?
Blood? I wonder if gerbils are like rats. Rats secrete a red mucus from their eyes and/or nose when they're stressed or ill. You may want to do some google research on it.
plz call ur vet andgel a lamp and shine it on ur gerbil to get better
Gerbil mucus is red, so the mucus might of dried and is holding his eyes shut. But his eye might be bleeding, bring him to a vet quick!
Gerbil mucus is red, so the mucus might be dried and is holding his eyes shut. But does your gerbil have a runny nose or do you see something different about him?Take your gerbil to a vet but check on how the place of the vet is.Your gerbil might fall into the wrong hands. If it is possible try to take him to a vet that works with a known pet store such as Petsmart or Petco. Hoped I helped!
Take a wet Q-tip or a Q-tip dipped in an eye cleaning solution that is safe to use on animals and gently clean the eye area. That should loosen the crust and he should be able to open his eyes. It may not be too much to worry about, but if you clean his eyes and he still can't open them or it keeps recurring, then bring him to a vet. If you take him to a store like PetSmart or PetCo, they may be able to help you with some suggestions, but due to store policy, unless you bought your gerbil from them, there isnt much more they can do. They wont be able to actually treat your pet unless you have a sales record or reciept.
Well it could've got a cut. So i would recomend going to the vet if it's serious.
