What are some tips to take good care of dwarf hamsters?

I have two dwarf hamsters (both males) and want to take care of them as best as possible. I change their food and water daily and their water monthly. I also change their bedding weekly and make sure to spend lots of time with them. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Answers:
I think you should change their water daily...that's what i do with mine, because I read in a book that they need to have fresh water daily.
You can also give them cotton balls. i have a dwarf hamster, and I give hime cotton balls. He doesn't eat them, he starts tearing them with his claws and teeth, then uses it as a sort of nest...
Another thing is you could get them chew toys...You can get some wood chews at PJ's pet shop, that are good for their teeth...(and they're really cheap...)
If you don't have a ball for hamster yet, you should get one, because it allows them to run around in your room safely.
You can also buy them treats at PJ's pet shop, that add a bit of flavour to their regular diet...
You can give them carrots, as long as they're well washed and are not coming straight from the fridge.
Otherwise, you're doing just fine !
Why don't you search the internet, or get a book about dwarf hamsters? I bet they would provide a lot more information than on here.
humm Did you say two males in the same cage? Well if there not fighting I guess it's ok because they could kill each other.. Well anyway MAKE SURE you have a cage that they cannot get out because I have had many and they are perfect at escaping! ha ha and living in my couch!!
Hey.
It sounds like your doing just fine.

Hi - it sounds like you r doin gd job with ur dwarf hamsters - nd btw sum1 said that they mite fight but they dont - they r the only breed that don't when put 2gether (i shuld no since iv had 2 dwarf hamsters b4). lol. but u said ' I change their food and water daily and their water monthly. ' did u mean sumthing else instead of the last water? cause that dusnt rely make sens..nyhow gd luck with them :)
It sounds like you are doing a great job with them. I really want to caution you and anyone else from giving small pets cotton balls or "fluff." Even though there are commercial products on the market containing these substances, beware! They can get impacted in your animals' lungs and ultimately cause serious injury or death. Much better alternatives for the same purposes (nesting and chewing fun) are empty toilet paper and paper towel tubes and one-ply, unscented, dye-free toilet paper or tissues. Please do not give them cotton balls or fluff!
